    Scarecrow Sprinkler

    Tags: Sprinklers

Having your own garden is wonderful hobby that provides both a stress relieving activity and fresh vegetables at the same time. But with these rewards, also come challenges.  One of the largest challenges that gardeners face is unwanted visitors such as deer, rabbits, birds and cats visiting their garden and using it as their own private dinner table. After all the hard work you put in, this is the last thing that you want to see, but don’t worry, there is a simple humane solution to this problem. The solution is installing a motion activated sprinkler system that will deter any animals from visiting your garden.

A system like this is easy to set up, safe and will not harm the animals, so you can also use it around pets as well. A scarecrow sprinkler works by delivering an unexpected spray of water in the direction of the animal when it comes into the vicinity of your lawn or garden.  This spray of water is accompanied by a noise and movement from the sprinkler head that act as an additional deterrents. This will actually teach pets and other wildlife to avoid your garden. There is no need for traps, or harmful chemicals anymore.

The sprinkler system I installed was the Contech Scarecrow, and I am very happy with my decision. The Contech effectively keeps all forms of wildlife from eating my plants and digging up the ground. The system also has an impressive range. One of these can cover an area of 1000 square feet. If you would like to cover a larger area, these sprinklers also link together in a series very easily. The setup of my Contech Scarecrow was also a breeze. All I had to do was install the battery, connect it to the hose, and place it in the ground. After a few minor adjustments to the spray arc, it was ready to go.

So if you’re looking for a great way to keep wildlife out of your garden, a motion activated sprinkler system is definitely the right choice for you.
